Introducing the Access 101: Eye Gaze and Pointer workshop
Exciting news! We’ve got a brand-new workshop for you, all about setting up two types of alternative access methods to use with AAC devices.
Join our Assistive Technology Trainer Keira and SLT Alicia for a two hour beginner session on 13 November at 4pm GMT. Tickets cost £25 / $33.
In this workshop, you will:
Gain an overview of eye gaze and see how the eye gaze monitor can work to support the eye gaze user.
Explore two different kinds of pointers – joysticks and head trackers. You’ll learn the differences between then and the reasons for choosing one for a specific user.
Learn how to rearrange grid layouts to provide a more intuitive experience for pointer or eye gaze users.
Eye gaze technology allows you to control your computer or device by looking at the screen.
Pointer
A pointer, for example a joy stick or head tracker, can be used to control the position of the cursor on a computer or AAC device.
Keira Fewtrell
Keira has worked in the field of disability for over 20 years educating and supporting individuals. The last decade she has been working with assistive technology and AAC. She regularly delivers online and in person training.
