Welcoming Zyteq to the Smartbox Family!
Based in Melbourne, Zyteq specialises in assistive technology and supports people of all ages with complex communication needs. They offer one of the most comprehensive ranges of AAC solutions in the country, including hardware, software, and accessories from Smartbox. Founded by Tracey Bode in 2008, Zyteq has since grown into a dedicated team of 15, working with AAC users across the country. As a service that supports people with diverse and evolving communication needs, many of their clients have been with them from early childhood through to adulthood, receiving ongoing support as their communication goals and circumstances change. After building an impressive legacy in the AAC world, founder Tracey has been thinking about the next chapter in her life and looking for a safe pair of hands to support the community in Australia as she retires. Smartbox and Zyteq have a long-standing partnership, rooted in shared values and a joint commitment to ensuring no one is left without a voice. With this strong alignment, Zyteq felt like a natural fit for the Smartbox Family. Over the years, we’ve had the privilege of meeting some incredible AAC users in Australia and connecting with thought leaders. You may have read our interview with Noah, for example, who has been using Smartbox products through Zyteq for many years and was the very first person in Australia to receive a Grid Pad 13. Led by Managing Director Jim Bell, helping AAC users achieve their ambitions is very much what continues to be the focus for the Zyteq team, and we are excited to begin this new phase together, building on the strong foundation Zyteq has established and exploring new ways to serve the AAC community in Australia. Day-to-day there will be no major changes and both companies will continue with business as usual. Our focus will be on collaborating with the Zyteq team to gain a deeper understanding of their clients’ needs, so that in time we can ensure a wider supply of Smartbox devices and software to better serve our AAC community in Australia. There is a lot to be excited about. The Zyteq team will have more opportunities to contribute to Smartbox initiatives, inputting on product development and launches, plus clinicians will have the opportunity to connect with wider teams across the world. There is no immediate plan for Zyteq to change name. The only noticeable change will be small adjustments made to the logo and branding, to reflect its new identity in the Smartbox family of brands. The Zyteq team will continue to have access to the same products and services, plus, expand their range from Smartbox. The Zyteq team will continue to provide the excellent level of service their clients are used to and joining the Smartbox Group will only provide more opportunities to improve customer experience.
